In this scholarship essay assignment, you will search for a scholarship that you think fits your interests and circumstances. The Scholarship must contain a written question that you need to answer in an essay style.  The reason you should find a scholarship yourself is so that you can use this essay to apply for the scholarship if you plan to go to post-secondary education after this. If you can’t find a scholarship that suits you, you may use one of the following essay prompts that are commonly asked in scholarship applications.

Scholarship Essay Structure

As you structure your essay to answer the question, think about the experiences, skills, strengths and personal qualities that you can highlight in your answer.  You want to market yourself and set yourself apart from the other applicants.  Your answer should be interesting, unique and full of information that would show you deserve the scholarship. If you have chosen a scholarship yourself, you may follow the word count that is specified in the scholarship.  Please submit a copy of the essay prompt and requirements to your teacher when submitting the assignment. If you have chosen one of the options above, please use a word count of 500.
